Little Roy Lewis is the youngest member of the Musical Lewis Family, the "First Family of Bluegrass Gospel." He is a master guitarist, banjoist, autoharpist, and comedian and is a member of the Bluegrass Hall of Fame, the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame, and the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. The Lewis Family's first recordings were Starday custom 78s on the Sullivan label in 1954, when Little Roy was just 12 years old, and they recorded for Starday through 1969. During that span they released six singles, eight EPs, and 16 full-length albums. Because Little Roy also recorded a solo EP and album of his own, he holds the distinction as the single most-recorded Starday artist.
